Floor types we strip

Why floor removal goes wrong

Cheap floor removal usually means tiles get smashed off and the screed gets left in place. The new floor layer then has to deal with a substrate that's two heights, has adhesive lumps, or won't take a fresh waterproofing membrane. Either you pay them to fix it or you live with a sub-standard finish.

We take the floor back to the slab, the bearers, or whatever the new floor needs to bond to. Substrate handed over level, clean, and inspected.

Asbestos in older Sydney floors

Vinyl floor tiles laid before 1990 in Sydney homes commonly contain asbestos in the tile body and the bitumen-based adhesive. Same goes for some sheet vinyl and underlays. We test before we lift. If asbestos is confirmed, we use a licensed removal team with the correct PPE, dust suppression, and disposal documentation.

Commercial floor strip outs

Office and retail floor strip outs run after hours, over weekends, or during fitout shutdowns so adjacent tenants aren't disrupted. Raised access floors are dismantled and stacked for return-to-base where requested. Screeds are ground back where new finishes need a level result. All waste tracked through EPA-compliant disposal.

How fast can it happen

A standard apartment - around 70 to 90 square metres of floor - is usually a one-day job. Larger homes go two to three days depending on what's underneath. Commercial floors are scoped against the program. We don't quote on guesswork. We measure the floor and inspect the substrate before pricing.
